International webinar series: Groundwater governance revisited – focus on India

An ongoing international webinar series titled ‘Reimagining Groundwater Governance with a special emphasis on India’ is taking place every Tuesday from July 20, 2021, to August 10, 2021. The webinar series is organized by the Advanced Center for Water Resources Development and Management (ACWADAM), a not-for-profit knowledge and partnership organization that aims to establish a groundwater sustainability agenda in India and beyond. The work of ACWADAM is based on the science of hydrogeology and the principles of managing a ‘common-pool resource’ using scientifically and participatory based processes.

The webinar series will bring together experts and experienced practitioners in groundwater management and governance from around the world. The webinars will take a comprehensive and fresh view of groundwater governance based on current and emergent discourses on climate change, ecosystem services, Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR), gender, the water-food-energy nexus and many more.
